A CMC Library Guide To Using Our Resources

What is the CMC Library?

The CMC Library is your resource for finding companies to build your target list, finding contacts for networking, and researching companies and industries in preparation for interviews or informational conversations. The CMC Library offers students the tactical piece of the coaching experience, educating Full-Time, Evening & Weekend, and Executive MBA students and alumni on how to best leverage the resources available to them to enhance their recruiting and career development process.

 

How to Connect with the CMC Library

Ask Us: Use the Ask Us feature located in the top right corner on the library’s website to send the CMC Library a message. We will reply via email and strive to respond within 24 business hours (Monday - Friday).

Walk in to the Library: The physical CMC Library located in Room 2395 of the Global Hub is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can stop by to check out physical books or to ask questions. We will follow up on your research questions either through email or by scheduling a one-on-one appointment with a librarian if you prefer.

Career Research Support

Whether you are seeking help with building a target list, finding contacts, or researching a particular company or industry, reach out to the CMC Library with your career research questions to receive in-depth support sent straight to your inbox within 24-48 business hours (Monday - Friday). 

You can also schedule an appointment with a librarian through CMS, under Appointments. Select Career Research Library Appointment as the appointment type to view availability and select the appointment time that works best for you.

Please provide as much detail as you can when scheduling your appointment to let us know what you wish to discuss. Please include any industry, company, or geographic focus you may have for your search.

Need help with academic coursework? Contact businesslibrarian@northwestern.edu for academic or class-related projects. Programming

The CMC Library holds presentations throughout the year where students can learn how to leverage our databases and resources to support their job search. Sign-up is through CMS. You can also view recordings of our previous workshops in Panopto by searching CMC Library.

Books 

Our career-focused catalog is carefully curated with input from staff, students, faculty, and business leaders. Books can be checked out for up to three weeks. If you have recommendations for new materials to add to our collection, please share them with us via email.
