Doing your research contributes to your success in the interview and it is what will make you distinct as a candidate. However, the stage of the interview process will inform the depth of your research. For example: reading the company's website/social media and some industry-specific publications might be good enough for an informal and/or informational interview, but may not be sufficient for your final round.
